With the WorldCup Soccer looming on the horizon, soccer fans gleam with excitement. Vendors stock shelves and carts. Streets are sweep free of trash, debri, and people.

Yes, according to NPR, in attempts to present itself as beautiful and beaming, the leaders of Cape Town have order the forced removal of the thousands of homeless families who live in its streets. Removals are accomplished by arrest or by relocation to the outskirts of the city into an area designated as a temporary shelter for families awaiting housing. It is nicknamed "Tin Can City" where half-naked children and dirty dogs run the dirt streets.

Residents of Tin Can City state that they have been dumped into a dump. There are up to 300,000 families in line for housing and they come, not only from Cape Town, but from all surrounding areas.

Cape Town officials argue that "they must clean house before guest arrive."
